MS 50K Walk (Queensland)

SUPPORT OUR CHALLENGE TO LEAVE MS (Multiple Sclerosis) BEHIND!

MS strikes young people in the prime of their lives. The average age of diagnosis is only 30 years old, and there is no known cure.

We took part in The May 50K challenge this May to raise funds for life-changing research into multiple sclerosis! The Queensland Team did various walks throughout May to build up their hours which ended with a group walk at the end of May.

Your donation will support research into the prevention, treatment and finding a cure for multiple sclerosis to change lives.

We would like to congratulate the Queensland Team.

Thank you!

Easter Egg Hunt (Melbourne/Werribee)

Bundoora and Werribee held an Easter Get together for participants, families and support workers which was a great success. Was lovely catching up with individuals and there was even an Easter egg hunt which the younger participants enjoyed.

Ready-Set-Connect event in Bendigo

Bendigo is getting ready for the Ready-Set-Connect event in Bendigo in October, we are aiming for this to be a big opportunity.

Bendigo Ready-Set-Connect Event brings together service providers with Parents/Carers, Support Coordinators, Teachers, and LACS in a fun and interactive speed dating format.

The networking event provides the opportunity for providers to share information about their business and products. And for Parents/Carers, Support Coordinators, Teachers and LACS, the event helps them keep up to date with current services in their local community and exercise their choice and control.

Cycle for MND Fundraising (Queensland)

Cyclists tackling mountains from Brisbane to Falls Creek for MND

Complete Nursing and Home Care was proud to be the major sponsor for a particularly challenging fund-raising event that ran in March 2022. The event saw a group of 10 Queensland cyclists ride 2,500km in 10 days, from Brisbane to Falls Creek in Victoria, with the aim of raising money for Motor Neuron Disease. The group met many challenges along the way including rain, flooded roads, many hills, lots of flat tyres, fatigue, sunburn, and some illness. Despite all the challenges the whole group finished the ride without major incident and managed to raise over $88,000 for the MND and Me Foundation.

The group were riding in honour of one of their cyclist friends, Murray Geale, who was diagnosed with MND in 2017.

The MND and Me Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to reduce the burden of recently diagnosed patients and their families and provide practical assistance to people living with MND, and their Carers, to help them cope with present and future challenges. Additionally, the foundation donates funds to help research that aims to find a cure for MND.

MND and Me Foundation relies on fundraising events to raise money and CNHC was very proud to sponsor this very successful event.
