Helping you get out and about in the community

We know how important it is to be part of the wider community. It helps physical health, mental health and our sense of freedom. We provide transport and disability support workers to keep you out and about in your local community.

So that you can connect with your friends, family and therapies outside your home. Your NDIS plan sets out the community access support you need. We consult with you on your NDIS Plan and make sure that the service we provide meets your goals. We help with:

  • Shopping trips
  • Getting to appointments
  • Getting to and from employment
  • Participating in hobbies and social occasions
  • Going on walks and getting active out and about
  • Going on holiday

Comes across as friends

CNHC found me a support worker who treats me as a friend, not just my disability. To me, the support worker is my mate, not just a support worker. CNHC comes across as friends, calling to chat and check in and always there to support me.

What are your favourite parts of the job?

I love working within the disability field. My favourite part about this job is that really isn’t so much a job because when you find something you love, it becomes a passion. I love to help those in need whether it’s by a little or a lot. I love the rewarding feeling I get knowing that I have put smiles on their faces, making them laugh or even when they thank me for my help. I love the people I work with, listening to their stories and their past. I love that every day is a different day, there are no two days the same and this is what motivates me.

What do you get out of the shifts you work?

I work with a variety of disabilities. Each person and shift are completely different. What I get out of these shifts is knowing I have done my very best with the time I had with them to be able to help and make everyone feel like they get to experience a life they deserve. I love the opportunity I get to work each shift I can as I know I am making a real difference in people’s lives. It’s a way for me to help those with disabilities to gain independence in their lives and feel part of their community.
