CCN’S 5TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE:
Complete Care celebrated its Annual Conference at the picturesque RACV Healesville Country Club and Resort. This year’s theme, “Mastery: The Key to Unlock Your Purpose,” inspired a day filled with insightful discussions and engaging activities.
The conference kicked off with a keynote address from our Director, John, who set the tone for the day.
Thank you to everyone who participated and made this year’s conference a memorable success!
The event featured a presentation on Mastery by Daniel Pink, engaging the team in lively discussions. A key session led by TMS expert Juliet explored personality traits and their impact on teamwork. In the afternoon, participants attended a Child Safety workshop focused on creating secure environments for children. This was complemented by a pottery-making activity that creatively illustrated the theme of mastery.
As evening fell, we gathered for dinner and the much-anticipated CCN’S Got Talent show. Colleagues showcased their unique talents and skills, celebrating the diverse mastery within our team. The night culminated in our Recognition Ceremony.
FRANCHISING AND BUSINESS EXPO
On the 17th and 18th of August, Complete Care and Nursing proudly participated in the Franchising and Business Opportunities Expo at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
Our Director, John Roberts, along with office staff members Sam and Roselle, engaged with attendees to discuss business ideas that align with our mission. We highlighted the unique opportunities within the healthcare sector, emphasising the importance of quality service and compassionate care.
The two-day event provided a fantastic platform to connect with potential franchisees, allowing us to share insights about the franchise model and the support we can offer. We are excited to collaborate with individuals who are passionate about making a difference in their communities while pursuing a successful business venture.

I am also thankful to have met and worked with my amazing team. It is always a pleasure to help our clients and participants in any way we can, and all of us have made great efforts to ensure that service delivery is as good as it can be. To my fellow Service Coordinators, you are the best!
Finally, I would like to leave a message for all of us. The future may be difficult, with great obstacles coming our way. But I have faith in our strength, resilience and mastery to overcome all the challenges. I wish everyone the best of luck.”
R U OK? DAY CELEBRATION
To mark the R U Ok? Day on the 12th of September, everyone brightened up the workplace by wearing yellow.
To add a warm atmosphere, we organised a fun photobooth, complete with delicious cupcakes and snacks available throughout the day. It was the perfect opportunity to munch on some treats while connecting with colleagues in a relaxed, friendly setting.
This day is all about taking a moment to check in with those around us and engage in meaningful conversations.

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
STAFF APPRECIATION NIGHT
On September 20th, Complete Care celebrated our wonderful Support Workers with a Staff Appreciation Night.
The night was filled with laughter and enthusiasm as colleagues mingled and formed new friendships. From engaging games that sparked friendly competition, delicious canapés that delighted our taste buds, to karaoke that brought out the hidden singers in us, every moment was designed to bring us closer together. It was heartwarming to see so familiar faces reconnecting and new ones being made.

In addition to the games, participants enjoyed painting, allowing everyone to express their creativity and showcase their artistic talents resulting in a colourful display of artwork.
The event also included a delightful afternoon tea, providing a perfect opportunity to relax, chat, and share experiences.
We look forward to organising more events that create engaging and meaningful interactions in the future!
Last 26th of September, we hosted a fun-filled game time at our Werribee office, bringing together participants and support workers for an enjoyable afternoon.
The day was packed with a range of games that catered to all interests. Participants enjoyed classic favourites such as UNO and 4 in a Row, which sparked a playful match and plenty of laughter. Jenga challenged everyone’s skills and steadiness, while the ring toss added an element of excitement. The beloved game of Bingo had everyone on the edge of their seats, eagerly marking off their cards.

MARILYN’S BIRTHDAY BASH
Marilyn Curran, a cherished client of Complete Nursing and Home Care, recently celebrated an important milestone—her 70th birthday.
This special occasion was marked with a heartfelt celebration alongside her long-term support workers, who have grown to become much more than support workers. Over the years, they have developed a close, family-like bond with Marilyn, creating a nurturing and supportive community around her.
Marilyn’s support workers have become her closest companions—individuals she deeply cherishes and trusts. Each year, her birthday is a time of joy and gratitude, as her dedicated team gathers to celebrate with her. This annual tradition is a testament to the deep connections they’ve formed, turning her birthday into a touching and love-filled event.
This year’s celebration was no different. Marilyn had a fantastic time surrounded by those who care for her, as she received thoughtful gifts that made her feel special and appreciated. The highlight of the day was her beautiful red cake, a color that symbolized the vibrancy and joy of the moment. As always, her workers made sure the day was memorable, creating an atmosphere of laughter, love, and togetherness.
Marilyn’s birthday is not just a date on the calendar—it is a reminder of the meaningful relationships that can develop through care and compassion. Her long-term workers, who have walked beside her throughout the years, continue to be her steadfast companions, and their annual birthday tradition is a celebration of that enduring bond.

STARS OF THE QUARTER
I started with complete nursing about May 2024 took me awhile to get all my paperwork together. This is the first Job I’ve had since I was 20 that I actually say I enjoy my job and don’t look at my watch and count down till I go home. I’m loving it.
One piece of advise for those starting out is think how you would want care if you were the client.
My super power if i had one would be to take pain away and make people happy.
Memorable moments with my client are our chats and having a good laugh. I love to see people genuinely happy.
Fun fact about me most may not know is I’ve travelled a lot, and even seen Mt. Everest from a walking trail in Nepal and been up the Eiffel Tower and bungee jumped in NZ.
I am an International Filipino Student, taking up Diploma in Community Service. I had a bachelor degree major in Marketing. I also worked in an Aged Care facility for a year, mainly customer service. Before becoming a support worker, I was someone with a natural ability to connect with others, often drawn to roles or situations where I could make a positive impact through empathy, patience, and a desire to help. I’ve been working as a disability support worker at Complete Care and Nursing since April 2024 or almost 6 months now.
If I could have any superpower to make my job easier, it would be the ability to deeply understand and connect with the emotions and needs of the people I support, even beyond words or actions.
One piece of advice I’d love to give is to approach every individual with empathy and an open heart. Disability support work isn’t just about providing care; it’s about truly understanding & respecting the person behind the needs.
One inspiring moment I experienced during a bathroom routine was with a client who had been working hard to gain independence. When they finished, they beamed and said, “I did my best!”
STARS OF THE QUARTER
My name is Chathura Karunathilake, though most people call me CK. With a background in accounting, I’ve always been driven by a desire to help those in need. I chose this field because it allows me to make a meaningful impact where it’s needed most. I have been working with CNHC since April 2022.
I wish I had the superpower to help people calm down. In my work environment, I often encounter clients who can become aggressive or stressed. If I could use this ability to soothe them, it would not only benefit them but also create a more positive and productive atmosphere.
I had the opportunity to try rock climbing and play tennis for the first time. Engaging in these new experiences not only deepened my connections with them but also reminded me of the joy that comes from stepping outside of my comfort zone.
A fun fact about me is that my name is quite long, which often leads to challenges when filling out forms. Additionally, I can play guitar, which adds another layer of enjoyment to my life.
If I could swap jobs with anyone in the world for a day, I would choose to be a stand-up comedian. The ability to make people laugh and bring joy to their lives is something I deeply admire.
My name is Erlyn Botona. I have worked with Complete Nursing for more than 1 year and have a wide range of experience in personal care. I take pride in my job and enjoy any learning opportunities that can help me grow.
A superpower to make my job easier would be mind reading. The ability to read minds would allow me to work knowing what each client wants especially if there are any communication barriers.
One piece of advice is to love your job.
I used to work in Saudi Arabia as a Nurse.
I always remember fondly my time spent working with Zane. It is a pleasure to look after him and help him anyway I can.
I would swap job with my mother for 1 day. I am yet to be a mother, so I want to know how to become one and provide loving care to her kids.
